== the area I have picked is weaver street market. it is ideal due to it's minimal human interference(people don't care if your croissant gets carried off), it's number of birds, and it's croissants. the most common bird in this place is a sparrow. unfortunately, people go crazy on Thursday at weaver street, so under no circumstances should I do this on a Thursday.

my conclusionmy hypothesis was half right. the birds WILL rob you of your baked goods, but they're more like ninjas then pirates. instead of swarming over it and taking all they can grab, they sneak in and take just what they need. they also won't rob the same place too many times in a row. this disproves the urban legends about flocks of birds at weaver street flying off with whole croissants. the answer to my question is, that you will either get your croissant pecked at by ninja birds or nothing will happen.
what happens if you put a croissant in a bird infested area?
procedure for investigation
1. chose your bird infested area
2.put the croissant in an open place in the area
3.walk far enough away so that you don't creep out the birds
4. observe the birds behavior for 20 minutes
5.record what you see
6. repeat the procedure for 20 minutes each day for 2 more days with the same weather

I think the birds will get greedy and swarm over the croissant. after all, research from google shows that most birds LOVE baked goods.http://www.all-birds.com/feeding-birds.htmhttp://www.birdhouses101.com/House-Sparrow.asphttp://www.wildbirdsforever.com/chart.html
